Food for Children is a non-profit (501-c3), non-denominational ministry working as an inner-city mission united in God’s love; providing food, encouragement, the distribution of clothing, prayer, and other essential items of necessity, while living and acting out our faith to those in our community who struggle in meeting their everyday needs. We endeavor, in all ways, at all times, to ‘be there’ for everyone and above all, to exhibit ‘God’s love in action’ by establishing relationships with the people we serve through extending a listening ear, human love, affection, and emotional support.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. - 1 Corinthians 13:4-5
New Location!
Every Saturday morning Food For Children hosts an outdoor food ministry in the playground of the Beech St School in Manchester, NH. Folks start lining up for a ticket at around 9:00 AM, they start going through the line at 10:00 AM. The line moves quickly and are usually done between 11:00 and 11:30. On days when the weather is bad we try to start aa little earlier.
Each week we serve 250 – 350 families. But our mission doesn’t stop when all the tables and tents are packed up. At the end of the day we usually have leftover food, so it doesn’t go to waste. We have a small group of volunteers who spend the their Saturday afternoon delivering the leftovers to other ministries in Manchester and another group of volunteers that brings food down to Nashua for distribution.
